Photograph Roe Deer in the arable fields of the rolling hills in the South Downs National Park. This is the newest of all the UK's national parks and stretches from Eastbourne in East Sussex all the way to Winchester in Hampshire. For this workshop we will focus on the beautiful hills in the western part of the park, close to where I live.

It is best to photograph the deer from the spring through to the end of summer, at either dawn or leading up to dusk, maximising the opportunities to capture the deer when they are most active. It will be a one-to-one workshop as fieldcraft skills are absolutely essential, either camouflage clothing or natural coloured clothing is a necessity. I will do my best to find the deer the day before and narrow down our search area.

Ideally you need a lens over 300mm, up to 500mm being the optimum focal length. Carrying a tripod is not really possible as we need to keep our silhouette to a minimum, bags are not recommended either. I am able to provide a camouflaged ghillie suit if one is required.
